afc123 Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Hi everyone, Quick Q A user is going on maternity leave here so will be off for 9 months soon. When she has set-up her automatic replies she has told me that it only send's once to the outside user. Also we have the librarian who is part time who also has this problem but as she is in alternate days I am thinking another solution may be needed. I have tested this and she is right and it say's it on the automatic replies setting. Seems a bit of a weird setting surely out of office is out of office so it should send all the time? Is there a way to have the Out of office send every time all the time for every sender? Thanks,
FN-GM Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 I think there is a timeout or something. If you try the day after you will get the out of office again. I think its to prevent infinite loops if the OOO reply goes to an automated email system or another system with an OOO reply.
Oddbod Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 It's to prevent OoO tennis… seen it happen before on an exchange server. Can get really slow if a couple of dozen people are OoO. We tended to mothball (remove, but keep a list of what they're in) long term absentees from the groupmails to prevent this.
