Hi all

Got an interesting one. A school has added Marksheets to a template and chosen National Curriculumn Year.. The marksheet has a supervisor. I know you can add supervisors to Year groups ect.. but I cannot find anywhere in SIMS where you can specify a National Curriculumn Year supervisor. Any got any ideas as to where this is coming from (it's vastly out of date and hence the school wants to change it!)

Kind regards

Simon

Yes they do that but because they have seen this they want to know how the supervisor for the NC year got there because it is well out of date and they would like to correct it.

In fact we are now very curious as to how it got there because on another schools data there are no supervisors for NC years showing...

Focus -> School -> Pastoral Structure -> Current Structure

Check the date is today and click Go. If this is incorrect contact support.

Expand Pastoral Structure -> Year *

The Supervisors folder will be visible containing any supervisors assigned to the year (or unexpandable if empty). They are manually added by right clicking the folder. If they aren't visible here and you are seeing supervisor-assigned marksheets in the Template screen then they are probably old ghosts in the system from supervisors long since removed from Pastoral Structure!

It's not the Year Group supervisors that are the problem. These are set up correctly and when you create a marksheet for a year group the supervisor appears correctly. The problem that is curious is that if you go and create a marksheet and choose NATIONAL CURRICULUM YEAR and select Curriculum Year from there it creates a marksheet and in this particular schools case IT has a supervisor.

It can't be done, we asked Capita about this (Students in Year 14 who are doing NC Year 13 or something similar) and the answer we got back was that you can create a Marksheet with a Year Group supervisor but no facility exists for NC Year.

Don't remove the marksheet, it should give you a clue with the last used date or create date. The info is probably a throwback to an old way of using the Pastoral Structure which might now be deprecated and you're just looking at old info. The supervisors name on the marksheet doesn't update, e.g. for year group / form based ones, ours still show the supervisor that was linked at the time of creation.

It's weird you can see a name when you create the marksheet as mine is blank and i'm guessing it's the same for most other people

It is certainly very weird. I have sent a screen shot to Capita to find out how it's happened as I agree it can't be done.. but somehow at some point it HAS been done. Just a complete mystery and one the customer REALLY wants an answer to!
