Applying folder re-direction taking agessssss!

Hey guys,

 

So I've setup a Mandatory profile for all the children and created 3 new shares on the domain controller so that I can add and edit things to the desktop, start menu and favourites in the mandatory profile.

 

Though now for some reason its taking ages to login and hangs on applying folder redirection. Even for some people who aren't in the same OU that GP applies to.

Below is the GPO report if you don't mind having a skim over it to see if I've done anything wrong. Really don't understand why it's hanging.

 

I have made the shares so that students only get read access to it and admin's can edit it.

Take a look in the machines event logs. This happened to me, turned out a had a dodgy DNS record for the file server. We only redirect our Start menu, we use GPP Shortcuts for the desktop.

try disabling redirection for one item at a time. So firstly disable desktop redirection, see if that improves or not? then try favs... process of elimination is probably the key to this... It could be a folder on your redirected desktop that is taking an age..
