Kyle Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 I need to get two extra SATA drives for storage to a server we use for back ups. I am going to get two Seagate 7750gb drives but i need to know if they come with the SATA cables or do i need to buy them separate?
dhicks Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 > I need to get two extra SATA drives You'll need to buy SATA cables separately (I generally get mine off eBay). They're pretty much all the same, although I found our Dell server needed fancy right-angled connectors, the normal straight ones wouldn't fit. -- David Hicks
contink Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 If anyone wants some SATA cables I have a rather large bag of them... A reasonable contribution to charity would suffice if anyone is interested.
gwendes Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 7.75TB drives = yum Buy them if you don't have a huge bag of them to hand!
Norphy Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 Retail boxed drives may come with them, bare and OEM drives definately won't.
EduTech Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 SATA cables arn't expensive any way i payed between £1 and £3 for mine a few months bk Regards James
