-Tim- Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Hi All, I'd like to post a job advert for a SIMS Helpdesk role at Royal Greenwich and have tried to contact the board twice to find out how I pay the £20. Does anyone know how or where I raise an order on this site? Kind regards Tim
MattMitchell Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Do you have to pay to post jobs on here now then?
-Tim- Posted May 18, 2015 Author Posted May 18, 2015 I thought so to be honest. I didn't want to jump straight in with a link and upset someone.
howartp Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 @elsiegee40 pulls a load of adverts from some other site on a regular basis, so I'm presuming payment is not needed even if it used to be?
MattMitchell Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 The guidance says you have to pay if you're an agency or group recruiter. It sounds like individual providers are exempt though...
howartp Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 @elsiegee40 pulls a load of adverts from some other site on a regular basis, so I'm presuming payment is not needed even if it used to be? Actually, I guess reading the sticky would answer our questions!
-Tim- Posted May 18, 2015 Author Posted May 18, 2015 Thats what I read, hence sending messages to the contact us link mentioned. But as yet no replies. Has anyone else paid or knows the procedure. Honestly trying to pay £20 to anyone not on our payments systems could be..ermm..an opportunity for discovery T
elsiegee40 Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 @Dos_Box and @ZeroHour have been away so I am guessing their inboxes are in need of attention. Hopefully @Dos_Box will see this thread now!
Dos_Box Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Lol, I did check reported posts earlier! He's been emailing me this afternoon. All sorted out now, the ad went up here: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/educational-jobs/153937-sims-helpdesk-officer-royal-borough-greenwich-start-30k.html 1

Payment is required as per the rules. However, members are, within reason, allowed to post jobs that may be of interest. In my campaign to get Edugeek members to have world domination, I focus on educational jobs. I tend to go for standalone schools or those that are members of small academy trusts... the big MATs might get a mention close to closing date, but often they advertise direct so I don't step in first. I also put a load of university jobs up as they are have potential for career development for those currently in schools... and pay better salaries. In other organisations I tend not to post unless the jobs board is quiet and/or it has a bit of a wow factor like the one on Ascension Island. What I am trying to do is demonstrate the wider world that's available to school based techs... and of course the world takeover plans of edugeek 1

elsiegee40 Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Who does the Edugeek app? ZeroHour or DosBox? ZeroHour is the webmaster / app guru. He is currently working hard on moving the whole site away from vbulletin onto a new, and hopefuloy more robust and capable, platform. It's a massive job.

Is that to address delays of up to several hours in email and/or app alerts to subscribed threads, or am I the only one experiencing this this week?
elsiegee40 Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Is that to address delays of up to several hours in email and/or app alerts to subscribed threads, or am I the only one experiencing this this week? There have been issues around this area, I can't say that it has been any worse for me in the last week. Problem reporting is done by starting a thread here : http://www.edugeek.net/forums/edugeek-net-site-problems/
howartp Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 That's fine - typically that alert came through by email and app within seconds!
