The Royal Borough of Greenwich is looking to appoint a SIMS Support Officer to join a busy team within Children’s Services. As an accomplished SIMS Support Officer, you will be able to resolve a wide range of application and database issues. You will have excellent communication and problem solving skills, and possess the ability to deliver high quality support and training to our customers across a range of SIMS modules. In addition, you will have a thorough understanding of information technology issues that could affect the smooth running of the SIMS suite and the SOLUS delivery system.

 

Ideally, you will have experience of working in a Local Authority IT support team or have significant experience dealing with SIMS and IT issues within a school environment.

You will need to demonstrate that you have experience and a sound understanding of the following areas:

 

• SIMS.net Core

• SIMS.net Reporting

• SIMS Attendance

• SIMS Dinner Money

• SIMS Assessment Manager

• SIMS Discover

• FMS

• Personnel

• Examination Organiser

• Nova T

• Academic Management

• SIMS Upgrades and Patches (SOLUS 2 & 3)

• Statutory Returns

I forgot to mention the closing date for applications is the 28th May.

Will we get training on areas we aren't as familiar with? Example, I know most areas of SIMS in-depth but FMS I won't have a hand in unless working in the finance department.

Thanks for the question. Yes, we will be able to help you with FMS. Although we try and make sure everyone can do all areas of SIMS people naturally gravitate toward their strengths.
