Today, I decided was the time to bring the 3D printer into school and set it up.

So I picked the staffroom laptop and started downloading software for it.

All of a sudden network drops out. After an hour of fiddling resetting and even percussive maint - I decided it wasn't my WiFi network but this 3 month old toshiba!

Of course, when I asked someone had they had any problems with it - they said - oh yes - its terrible !!!!!!!

I get this all the time here and it is so annoying. I'm a pretty approachable guy and I generally get things fixed pretty quickly but people sometimes just never tell me if there is an issue. So frustrating when there is some issue that every member of staff seems to know about but not one of them thinks its a good idea to mention it to the guy that could actually resolve it. I have seriously given thought to taking over a corner of the staff room full time and working from there. If I am right there where people will see me a couple of times a day member it will remind them I'm here (or I will at least over hear them moaning about XY or Z not working).

The best I've had is when I send out an email to all staff about something, usually some new development we've implemented for staff to use, and then get an email back from a few people saying "by the way X is broken, been meaning to report it for weeks". I've also had a few staff always report things by replying to an email from a few years ago as it was the only one they kept for just that purpose, it's quite confusing sometimes when you just look at the subject before reading the content.

I wonder if Pastoral or Office staff have the same problem when they email all staff and get "joe bloggs did y in my class 2 weeks ago and I want him punished"
