[sims] SIMS - Report Error: Deactivated UDFs will be removed from the design

Hi,

 

I have created a report that should allow teachers to download assessment data for a given Year Group, Subject and Assessment Point, but since letting teachers know about it on Friday, I have a lot of them come back to me saying they receive the following error message when trying to access the report:

 

Data items you do not have permission to view and deactivated UDFs will be removed from the design.

 

 

Essentially, the report pulls off a student's basic ID data, as well as assessment data via aspects and resultsets.

 

Any ideas whether I just need to assign some specific permissions?

Most likely you need to allocate more permissions.

When i did something similar many moons ago, i found i had to give staff permissions to read results, which weren't their own. I created a custom group called Report Result Read and then put all staff into it. This allowed us to create proof printing reports.

See if something like that works for you - i don't recall why i needed all those lines, but SIMS is a finicky beast and at the time they were required.

 

Bear in mind that if you have a policy that restricts user access to student result data, then this will be bypassing that for anyone you put in the group.

That's exactly what it needed! I've now applied this to all teaching staff and they can now run the report in question.
