Some innocent IT Room user (Yea right) has stuck a piece of paper inside the HP Laserjet 2300 fan compartment meaning the fan isn't spinning correctly meaning the printer complains with a error code basically saying 'replace the fan'

How do I disassemble the printer to get to the fan?

Disassembling laser printers is easy, it's getting them put back together again afterwards that's hard. I think someone here mentioned using a digital camera to take shots of *every* step you take in getting the printer apart, then all you have to do is reverse the order and you've got a step-by-step guide on how to put it back together. I would also recommend allocating at least a couple of hours of interupts-disabled time, away from helpfull children with prying fingers, to get the task done in.

Bear in mind that taking the printer apart will (almost certainly) invalidate any waarrenty you might have on it, so calling an HP engineer might be a reasonable option (although it'll probably be cheaper to simply buy a new printer and re-use the toner from the old one).

 quoted for the truth. I will try absolutely everything before taking one apart they just never seem to want fit together properly again once certain parts have been released.
