Hi Everyone,

We're having trouble dialling 101 (The UK police non emergency number)

999 and 112 normalise fine and dial straight out.

I'll attach a screenshot of my normalisation rules, which to me look like they should work.

Is there something else i need to configure except for the dial plan?

If anyone has experience with this it would be much appreciated.

Cheers

You will also need to configure your route. You will need to add 101 to the pattern to match.

Thanks for your reply, could you expand a little more on this?

Shouldn't my [0-9] pattern cover 101?

This is my current routeroute.PNG

Ok your route are a lot more liberal than mine. That should be all that needs doing. We have 101,112 & 999 configured to work in exactly that scenario. Could it be further up your config, are you using a SIP provider, SBC or IP/PBX could it be failing there?

We have a sip trunk provided by VOIPunlimited.

Just looked into our trunk config where i found the rule that adds a + to the numbers we dial.

So i have added a rule in there thats similar to our 999 rule.

I will commit changes and test.siptrunk.PNG

EDIT: Nope, still no luck

Thanks for all your help guys.

I phoned VOIPunlimited and they told me that dialling 101 is not provisioned at their end due to regional dialling or something like that.

I've asked them to look into it for me.

Thanks again.

We found this with our SIP trunks. Instead I created a rule so when someone dials 101 it directs the call to the local number for the force 101 call centre. For Greater Manchester Police this is 0161 8725050

101 doesn't work well with SIP trunks because they are not geographic, and when you dial 101 it connects you to your areas force.

If you find our your police forces local number for the 101 call centre and make a direct it should work fine.
