Unblocking Applications

We have a peice of software called JoinMe from logmein which i cant seem to unblock on the smoothwall. I have created the port rules to open this up but just get network error, i dont want to have to phone smoothwall everytime a new piece of software needs installing on our network.

 

Can anyone guide me where to start.

 

Also the application layer 7 firewall part of the smoothwall whats it called? ie in the menu?

Layer 7 is under Networking > Outgoing > Ports.

 

In each policy there, there's a new link at the top called 'Blocked Services' which has categories such as VPN/Tunnelling.

 

If you check the Licenses page, it's called Deep Packet Inspection.

Any ideas what I've missed for unblocking it

I have regular Logmein on servers and my PC, configured in its preferences to use the 801 proxy port ( ie unfiltered) cos I struggled.

 

This was before we bought Layer7 though.

 

I've not done anything with UNblocking via Layer 7; we just use it for blocking VPNs.

Under networking outgoing policies what do you have your default set to? Block all?

Seems we don't have the license I'll give them a call on Monday any ideas roughly what it costs?
