rsvenson Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 I am trying to work out how to allow our students to print directly from Learnpads to our Printers. We need to make sure that the prints go through Papercut to our print hubs, so that it keeps a track of who is printing what. We don't want to use Google Cloud Print, as we don't really want all our students to have google accounts for school, as we have a local exchange server. I have been looking at the email-to-print feature of Papercut, but I'm not sure how to use the students' outlook accounts to email directly from the Learnpads. I would be very grateful if anyone could give me some helpful advice on how to achieve this. cheers Rob
NB9457 Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 It seems that's the way they recommend setting it up: Tour - Google Cloud Print - PaperCut It mentions "Managing mapping of Google Accounts to Domain or PaperCut User Accounts", so maybe register the exchange accounts for Google print services? Plus Google accounts and management are free for schools I think, so might give you a good reason to shift the students from exchange to Google? Seems to be the way of a lot of schools now, free and easy.
mjk Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 We do use cloud print and it works very well with papercut; students print from anywhere and then do a print release when they get to the printer. It is possible to use a local mail server with Google apps: https://support.google.com/a/answer/2685650?hl=en
