Disease Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Anyone here have electronics classes? Do you have a problem with students melting the power cords on the soldering irons? We have just had to throw 30 soldering irons as the little buggers have melted the cords. We are now looking for a solution to stop them doing it.
FN-GM Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 We are now looking for a solution to stop them doing it. Classroom management. No issues here, the students wouldn't dare do it! 1
elsiegee40 Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Same at my governor school. Death is better than being caught by the teacher or technician. They have very strong views on lab safety
AMLinington Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Very short cords plugged into Armor-core extensions?
localzuk Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Definitely a classroom management issue - soldering irons checked before use then after. Melted cable? Child gets charged for the repair/replacement.
