RPi as a wireless to wired bridge

Morning,

 

We've a wall of Raspberry Pi's we're going to be mounting up soon. Has anyone ever used one Pi with a wireless adapter as a bridge to a small switch to supply ethernet to the rest of them (8 Pi's)? I've seen a few guides floating around but was wondering what degrees of success people on here might have had.

 

I hope I've explained that properly, hah.

I'd have a search on the main Pi forums as I've seen quite a few posts about using it as a bridge - mind you - prob much easier just to buy a bridge but not as much fun

Just make sure your GUI network manager is leaving eth0 alone... multiple progs managing the interface is the leading cause of problems. Then follow any of the dozens of tutorials on editing /etc/network/interfaces.
