purpleoakley Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Hi, I support a primary school that received a 3D makerbot printer. I've got it connected to a laptop, wireless is set up on it and I was able to print the test template out. The problem occurs when I open the Makerbot desktop software, it won't let me log in as it says it can't connect to the internet, so the school can't download any templates or print anything other than their test piece. The school use proxy settings and I can access the internet through IE and Chrome. The website isn't much help. Any help gratefully received. Thanks.
pete Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 google search: makerbot desktop software proxy server https://www.makerbot.com/support/new/04_Desktop/Knowledge_Base/Network_Connectivity_for_Enterprise_Private_Networks Connecting to a Proxy Server The Explore, Library, Store and Learn tabs in MakerBot Desktop pull content from the Internet. If your network requires that web traffic goes through a proxy server, open MakerBot Desktop and navigate to Edit > App Preferences on a PC or MakerBot > Preferences on a Mac. Select the Enable Proxy Connection checkbox, and then click Save.
Fraserb82 Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 Hi Pete, Thanks for your reply to this post. Do you have a solution for not being able to get past the sign in page for the software? The guidance on Makerbot website suggest I should not have to sign in to it with an account and that I should have limited access to the software, however I can't do anything as all I have access to is the initial sign in box along with an option to put in proxy settings, which I have tried.
