cpjitservices Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Hi all, A little project im working on requires me to find out whether replication could be setup over fiber WAN link. With No Active Directory availability. I believe to be able to replicate in Hyper-V you have to be able to authenticate against AD. This would not be possible over WAN link. Clients want to share space in each other server room but on different networks - possibly even a different ISP. Does VEEAM Have a solution ? Thanks all - hope the above makes sense.
pow Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 If the lines are reliable enough (leased and quick enough up/down), just set up a site to site VPN?
cpjitservices Posted April 24, 2015 Author Posted April 24, 2015 Would VPN be quick enough for replication ?
kevin_lane Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 If you have a good connection yea no difference well shouldn't be except you have the added encryption / de encryption overhead
nicholab Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Veeam has WAN acceleration built in. I would look at pfsence as the vpn end points.
