work folders alternate port

Ive got work folders running fine with standard settings on vms but as almost all my file servers are web servers ive been trying to get it to work in that situation. Ive got it sort of working at the moment any file i put on the client appears on the server but the reverse isnt true so if i create a file on the server it dosent appear on the client even when i force syncing (ive disabled firewall on both vms for testing). Now i connected to the share from the client as a test it shows all the files and if i added one that way suddenly all the files synced to the client but that only worked once i cant repeat it. Any ideas if it makes any odds ive used port 12345. Then again its just done it im wondering if by changing the port ive managed to induce a delay as suddenly they all just appeared after another forced sync
