Hi all,

Recently modified our Folder Redirection GPO's to include Appdata (using Roaming Profiles too).

This is applied to laptop users as well as desktop users.

I've got a laptop here where a couple of Office programs wont open without a network connection (or the user is connected via VPN).

Error I get in Word is 'Your AutoCorrect file 'mso2057.ad' could not be saved.

I don't know if this is the only machine with a problem yet.

If I remove the GPO, it does the same thing.

Could this be it still looking for AppData over the network?

Nothing in the error logs.

Because you have redirected appdata...... files needed for office are stored on your network. I believe its best practice not to redirect appdata (we too use roaming profiles). You can exclude certain folders in appdata going into your roaming profile which can help keep the roaming profile size down. (Such as adobe photoshop folders)

I think you might be right ;)

I'll remove the redirection and see what happens

Generally speaking trying to redirect AppData is a big No No. We attempted it here and had no end of problems, after our failed attempts I found a number of articles online advising against even trying.
