tech-man Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Is anyone else having issues with YouTube for schools not applying? Thanks
nile_c Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 I've had reports from elsewhere, but we're still trying to confirm and understand the cause.
tech-man Posted April 17, 2015 Author Posted April 17, 2015 Great thanks - any updates would be appreciated.
tech-man Posted April 20, 2015 Author Posted April 20, 2015 Does anyone have any further news on this? Thanks
localzuk Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 SWGfL are now investigating it for us too. Took a little convincing to get them to though, as they just assumed it was due to the message about Youtube for Schools signup being broken.
Tesla Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Got a message through to us from our filterers this morning (e2bn/protex) We have found an issue with YouTube for Schools , starting Friday 17th April. Normally student Protex profiles should be redirected to Youtube's Education site unless your school's Protex system has already been configured to allow full access. We have found that since Friday students are going straight to full Youtube - as a temporary fix we have put in a partial redirect to an E2BN holding page but this needs a bit more work to ensure all YouTube urls go to it . We are liaising with Google to get a fix as soon as possible. We have full access here so haven't noticed a change..
tech-man Posted April 21, 2015 Author Posted April 21, 2015 This seems self resolved for us this morning - clearly an issue at YouTube.
nile_c Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 I had confirmation from Youtube (overnight) that this was a temporary issue and is now resolved. Haven't tested it myself, but it appears you folks have!
