Recommend me a PVR Backend

Hey Guys,

 

I'm currently using DVBViewer as my PVR backend which then I use Kodi to watch LiveTV. I was just wondering what you guys used? We have satellite by the way. It seems certain channels such as Dave or Quest we can't receive even though they are free on freeview/freesat? Is there anyway to enable these channels?

 

The PVR software must have integrated EPG Data and work with Kodi?

 

Any suggestions would be most appreciated

Dave/Quest aren't free to air on Sat, they are encrypted. They are only free on Freeview.

 

I use Windows Media Centre on my pc (2xDVB-T2 tuners, 2xDVB-S2 tuners), but that's just for me.

That's a shame, I like those channels seems silly they're free on freeview but not on General Satellite TV! My HTPC (It is old) sometimes will pause the Live TV in Kodi and then will say waiting for Cache? How do I get rid of this issue? It has a Core 2 Duo and GT610 GPU but it's Hard Drive is a very old 80GB thing from Maxtor, would the Hard Drive be the problem?

I'm also a Windows Media Centre user, I've played with Kodi for live TV with tvheadend but the lack of straight forward series recording and just finding it a little buggy put me off. I'm thinking of trying it again though this time using Windows Media Centre as a backend, read good things about it although never tried it.
