A QNAP NAS that have have connected to our SCDPM 2012R2 server via iSCSI which decided to stop working (2 hard disks have failed) so once I have fixed it I will have a new array with no data on it.

What do I need to do with regards to DPM to get it to forget about the previous array and start backing up to the new one?

I may be wrong (I haven't checked) but doesn't save the configuration onto some internal memory as well as the raid...

I've transplanted disks before to different units when I had to send mine back to QNAP but I'm sure it back it up internally as well.....

Thanks for the reply but like I said, 2 hard disks have failed, the data is lost as more than 1 disk has failed, the configuration of them is OK as as soon as I replace the 2 hard disks I can easily re-create the array but it will be empty, hence my question on what to do with SCDPM 2012R2 as it is still looking for the disk array that no longer exists so I currently have no backups to disk.

Any DPM users out there know what I need to do?

Basically your stuffed never had to do it my self but I backup DPM database as that I belive holds the everything you need in order to bring everything back but I think that's for a complete rebuild so I maybe wrong when I get to work I will double check and let you know how had you added the storage back to DPM you most probably won't have any but do you have any inactive recovery groups but from what it sounds like your up steam without a paddle

I have now resolved the issue.

After intensive research after removing the missing disk from the DPM Storage Pool I used the DpmSync -ReallocateReplica command and left it going overnight and I now have backups on the remaining disks in the storage pool which is now running low on space so hopefully the failed drives will be replaced by the manufacturer soon!
