IT Technician – 1 Year Fixed Term Contract (SE Essex) * URGENT *

Up to £24,000 including 25 days annual leave (and bank holidays), 37.5 hours per week

Our client, a large and rapidly expanding technical vocational college based in Essex has an urgent requirement for an IT Technician to join their Support Team.

 

Your main duties will include providing high level technical support to the staff and students, whilst ensuring access to working IT over a multi-site computer network covering Basildon, Southend and Canvey Island.

 

You will utilise Active Directory Group Policies to ensure network security, configure, image and install PCs and laptops, diagnose and resolve ICT problems, monitor the servers, switches and backup devices, produce ID cards, create / manage network and email accounts and maintain the printers.

 

It is essential that you drive (with your own car) and have experience of Windows Server 2008r2/2012r2, Networking, TCP/IP, Active Directory and Group Policies, DNS/DHCP configuration, Hyper-V virtualisation technologies and Microsoft SCCM 2012r2 (SCCM MDT).

 

Ideally you will also have experience (or knowledge of) using MS endpoint protection, Office 365, SharePoint, SQL 2008, Smoothwall web filtering, Maraki Wifi and BOYD.
