[sims] Data Magically Disappearing

I was wondering if anyone can help. We have been having issues where data in assessment manager is going missing. Normally if it is one or two people who complain I would normally ignore but a high number of people have been complaining and I noticed speed issues with SIMS as well.

 

Have other people had this problem and if so any potential solutions to this?

Keep permissions to a minimum but bear in mind you can't audit who removes grades from SIMS, only who puts grades in.

Might be worth checking the server log files to see if SQL has crashed and recovered.

This crops up every now and again. Check to see if multiple teachers have access to the same marksheet. Also, loose permissions, i.e. lots of assessment managers or assessment operators doesn't help.

If two people are using the same marksheet - there is no guarantee whose data will take precedence.

 

Any recent changes to your setup? Maybe you've upgraded / migrated to a new SQL version? LDF is getting large..?

Yes we recently upgraded our servers and since then we have been having a number of issues

SQL 2014 - has speed issues. Worth trying to put it in compatibility mode.
