[bug/error] Trying to +rep to someone I've thanked recently isn't displaying the usual warning

Normally when I try to add rep to someone I've thanked recently, I get a little pop up telling me I need to spread the love around first, but I'm getting nothing at all right now. Adding rep works if it's someone I'm allowed to add to, it's just the warning telling me when I can't that isn't working.

On a related note, it's a bit of a faff anyway - oftentimes someone has helped me through a thread, and I've thanked each step of the way to show my gratitude, but then I want to +rep at the end when it's built up to something I'm especially grateful for. All I end up doing is going back through the thread, removing all my thanks, +repping then adding the thanks back. Is massive over-repping such a problem that we can't turn the limiter off?

I'd rather there just be one or the other.. most people either thank and forget to rep or the other way around - especially considering that adding reputation takes more time than 'thanking'.

Sadly it I got caught up with other things so I have not revisited it, basically a thank counts as rep which prevents you rep'ing the person again, you can however remove your thank, rep them then thank them and they will get both.

I may disable the rep'ing and move it to thanks as thats how it will work on the new site.

You can now thank any post on any section of the site, I will look into dealing with the old rep system soon after a little more thought.
