Afternoon,

I have not set much here, however the staff have a SharedDesktop folder in which is all of their default desktops (obviously).

To navigate to this I goto

\\servername\SharedDesktop$

However when I got just \\Servername\ I cannot see the SharedDesktop$ Folder - as I need to remove write permission.

Could anyone be of help?

Thanks,

The Dollar symbol hides the folder (actually it makes it an administrative share, but that's another story) - can you not get to the permissions by clicking on the white space from withing the share and choosing properties? this should open the properties of the containing folder

Thankyou for your fast response, I did end up doing like you said. However I still didn't know about the $ property (I'm very new at this!)

So I have made it read only thankyou! :)
