mikkydoos Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Hey all, Got far too many hits on our Smoothwall box on port 6881 - leads me to believe there are machines on my LAN running torrent clients that are trying to connect. Anyone know a way to find machines running torrent clients via my LAN ?? Cheers in advance
themightymrp Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Something like Wireshark should be able to see what traffic is attempting port 6881. It should then tell you the source IP address which you can track back with DNS or ping /a
Michael Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 What's significant about port 6881? Your firewall's doing it's job, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Once users realise they can't download anything they'll give up, surely?
