Users Home onedrive downloading to roaming profile section?

Hi there,

 

Having a weird issue with a staff member here. Basically they have signed into their personal one drive on IE on their work computer and now every time they login it downloads their 11.2 GB personal one drive data to roaming profile so login takes agessss.

 

They have told me they have unlinked the computer via the one drive tool online however it still keeps trying to download their one drive stuff.

 

Is there an easy way of stopping this?

For any user who will be roaming (teachers and students really), best practise is you should never have the onedrive local software installed on "roaming computers" and keep them all on the web based. Saved us from alot of roaming issues we were having like yourself. Recently spoke to Microsoft and they said from their educational team that they are looking for a drive mapping option just like folder redirection to that users onedrive area on Office 365 which should be really helpful. Turned out he had used a portable app to run onedrive from his USB stick but as soon as he clicked sync then it caused all these problems.

 

Have now prevented said staff member using USB sticks on their profile

 

For future if this happens to anyone else though I disabled them access to save/edit the onedrive folder on their roaming profile and it seems to have fixed the issue.
