Chuckster Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Before, in the past, I was able to capture and create my own custom .WIM file of Windows 7 that was already activated. Now, however, I am no longer able to capture and sysprep an OS that is activated. After deploying my custom image it states that I have 3 days remaining to activate in the System Properties screen. Is there a way around it?
themightymrp Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Onsite KMS server to auto-activate? I didn't think you could sysprep and capture while maintaining activation? I thought the whole process of sysprep was supposed to deactivate it?
Arthur Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Onsite KMS server to auto-activate? ^ This! It's the best option by far.
SHimmer45 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 in your task sequence pop the client KMS code in the answer file (not the KMS host key but the key that MS publish on their site) as the image is rolled out the Image will query your DNS for the details of your KMS server and activate - should all be silent and not need you to do anything after adding the key and setting up a KMS host if you dont already have one.
