featured_spectre Posted March 16, 2015 Author Posted March 16, 2015 got a screenshot? remember, its not just health services, you need death services (cemetery), offices require a police headquarters not a station, same for fire, they require the fire station instead of the little one.
JRowley Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 got a screenshot? remember, its not just health services, you need death services (cemetery), offices require a police headquarters not a station, same for fire, they require the fire station instead of the little one. I'll post one tomorrow, I've built basically every building in the game pretty much, they have their own university, police HQ, Fire HQ, I think they have a police and fire station too. They have a rail, metro and bus link. They have big parks, a crematorium, two elementary schools, a high school. Seriously don't know what's wrong with it, maybe I've missed something obvious but I can't think what it would be... It's also weird that some of them have upgraded, its strange because they are some of the furthest buildings from the city so are covered by less services than the others. That's not to say this is a big issue really, the game is great, I'm just a bit confused about this one thing.
featured_spectre Posted March 16, 2015 Author Posted March 16, 2015 hmmm....garbage services covered?
JRowley Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 hmmm....garbage services covered? Yeah, everything, literally everything I can think of.
featured_spectre Posted March 17, 2015 Author Posted March 17, 2015 Did you manage to get a screenshot done?
JRowley Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Did you manage to get a screenshot done? Damn do ya know, I completely forgot. I'll do it tonight!
featured_spectre Posted March 18, 2015 Author Posted March 18, 2015 Ground polution? Water polution? They'll prevent a building to upgrade. How are they looking as I can't really see on your map well.
CAM Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 (edited) Loving your motorway junctions, they are smartly designed and better then the spaghetti hell people keep creating. By the way, check noise pollution. Baffling the motorway and upgrading the roads to have trees will help a lot. Dual carriageways are also overkill, they generate more noise then single roads but try the other methods first. Edited March 18, 2015 by CAM

No ground polution in the local area and no water polution at all! The builds report that they need to be covered by more services, but that area has every service built on the road that surrounds it except for rubbish which is collected near the solar plants. Loving your motorway junctions, they are smartly designed and better then the spaghetti hell people keep creating. Thanks man, the main highway that runs through the city that you can see took me about an hour of demolishing and rebuilding until I was happy with it!
featured_spectre Posted March 18, 2015 Author Posted March 18, 2015 You do know trains, metro, seaports, buses etc count as services as well...stick a metro nearby and have some buses run by. If you subsidise the public transport, you also reduce traffic considerably (by my calculation traffic dropped by around 1/3)
JRowley Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 You do know trains, metro, seaports, buses etc count as services as well...stick a metro nearby and have some buses run by. I have bus stops and a metro station on every street, a train station in there. The only thing I don't have is a seaport close by but that hasn't prevented the middle of the area upgrading!
featured_spectre Posted March 18, 2015 Author Posted March 18, 2015 hmmm...can you upload your save anywhere? I'll have a butchers
JRowley Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 hmmm...can you upload your save anywhere? I'll have a butchers I'll do that tonight!
featured_spectre Posted March 18, 2015 Author Posted March 18, 2015 Thanks. I decided to make a save point, tank my city to high taxes etc, to get some achievements and unique buildings ...I have all but the premium ones (well I have the statue of liberty, but need to get others done).
pcstru Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 There is an issue with parks which seems to prevent commercial development demand. I think there is a mod to fix it. Are you aware of that - if not it might be contributing.
featured_spectre Posted March 18, 2015 Author Posted March 18, 2015 That could be it, but he has some in the middle which look fully upgraded....
JRowley Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 That could be it, but he has some in the middle which look fully upgraded.... Plus these are offices, not commercial properties.
jonnykewell1 Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Did Sim City ever get sorted to a good standard? I bought the game, couldn't play it and never touched it after that.

Not really, you can play it offline now but you are still stuck to a tiny plot of land, you can still make a city which is entirely residential etc.
CAM Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 I may try my second city tonight and build it up slower from little towns dotted around the map. Then watch it slowly build up and converge like real life.
featured_spectre Posted March 18, 2015 Author Posted March 18, 2015 Use your first one to get the building unlocks, such as courthouse, observatory etc, that way, you get them later on in new cities without having to unlock them again. I've only got a few to go
CAM Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Well, my first city is done. I built everything too close together, everyone went stir crazy due to the noise pollution and died. Cue an abandoned city full of dead people and no population to sustain income.
JRowley Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Here is the save - http://1drv.ms/1B3QWJy Just a few things, I know that quite a few of those buildings wont upgrade due to not having the right educated workers, that's fine as I can fix that, it's just the services I'm worried about. Enjoy the city, also here is the full view of my city:

Intersections is what im slightly worried about.
