Steve21 Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Morning All, Not sure if I'm having a blonde moment but can't you set the filetype that comes out of CommandReporter anymore? Trying to get it as Excel, but no matter what I put in the output it's coming out as CSV. Examples: /OUTPUT:"MyTest\Test.txt" Test.txt.csv /OUTPUT:"MyTest\Test.xls" Test.xls.csv /OUTPUT:"MyTest\Test.csv" Test.csv Am I being dumb here, or is there any place that its fixed/set? Thanks, Steve
vikpaw Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Not played with it for a while, but it's not determined by the report definition it's running is it?
Steve21 Posted March 11, 2015 Author Posted March 11, 2015 Not played with it for a while, but it's not determined by the report definition it's running is it? It's set to Excel by default in the report, as in if you just hit run it'll load within Excel (xls) Thanks, Steve
LosOjos Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 It is determined by the extension, however the only formats CommandReporter handles are XML, CSV and RTF - it defaults to CSV, which is why you're getting that instead of XLS, as it doesn't recognize XLS. Is there a particular reason it has to be XLS rather than CSV? You can script the conversion in PowerShell/VBS, but I wouldn't bother unless it's absolutely necessary as CSV is fully compatible with Excel anyway; you'll just be increasing the file size by making the conversion.
