Not sure I'm in the right forum here but wonder if anyone has any ideas.

We are just looking at getting more android devices for our school and wondering what MDMs people are using. At the moment we have 32 devices and are just using Google Play to manage them but would be nice to have a system to do things like bulk app installation and things.

Cheers

Good Morning,

There are multiple MDM options available, it completely depends what features are important for your School. Meraki and iboss are very good MDM solutions, we have trialled them ourselves and helped Schools implement them.

iboss are currently more Apple focused, however the Android function will be released shortly. With regards to the Meraki MDM, we can arrange for you to have a free trial, so that you can test it in your School environment. Would you like me to PM you with more details?

Many Thanks,

Christine

You can now do bulk installation using play. What's more, you can assign designated teachers to assign apps to the students for android and chrome (and chromebooks)

[h=1]Google Play for Education access[/h]Google Play for Education is available for K-12 schools who have managed tablets or Chromebooks.

Currently, Google Play for Education is only available in the United States, the United Kingdom, and English-speaking schools in Canada. As we expand internationally, we will update this article. Please check back here for new markets where Google Play for Education is available.

To begin using Google Play for Education, your Google Apps administrator should follow these steps:

  1. To accept the Google Play for Education Terms of Service:

    1. Go to Google Play for Education at play.google.com/edu.
    2. Click the Accept and continue button to accept the Terms of Service. You can read and review the full Terms of Service by clicking the blue link above the button.
    3.

[*]Set up Google Play for Education access for teachers at your school.

Note: If you see this error, "This account is not part of a K-12 Google Apps for Education school," when attempting to access Google Play for Education, you may need to update your settings in the Google Apps Admin console.

      1. Sign in to the Google Admin console.
      2. Go to the Company Profile > Profile section.
      3. Select Primary/Secondary Education from the Organization Type drop-down.
      4. Click Save changes.

Hi Christine,

Just to point out that Android is now fully supported by iboss, and if you have the SWG it also integrates the reporting and web filtering into one solution.
