About the Role

Croydon Council’s Schools’ ICT team (CrEdIT) provides comprehensive support packages for schools, covering all aspects of ICT for teaching, learning and school administration. In April 2015 CrEdIT becomes part of Octavo Partnership a traded services mutual company to schools. At this exciting time an opportunity has now arisen for a Senior ICT Consultant to join our SIMS team. This opportunity will involve maintaining and developing our service delivery to our schools.

 

The successful candidate will provide support to 80 primary & Secondary Schools in Croydon. Experience in all of the following Capita SIMS Modules is required – Attendance/Lesson Monitor, Sims.net Reporting, Discover, Assessment Manager, Exams Organiser, System Manager. Although the role is predominantly SIMS focused, as a part of the ICT Team and due to the workings of SIMS, they will be expected to perform other ICT support tasks as necessary.

 

Responsibilities:

 

· Carry out SIMS software installation, upgrades and patches via remote access

 

· Provide assistance with data issues/migration

 

· Provide consultancy, training and support to schools in the use of SIMS to ensure effective use and improve efficiency.

 

· Liaise with senior managers, head teachers and administrative staff to raise awareness and further develop the use of SIMS

 

· Ensure regular tasks are documented and completed in accordance with the procedures established by the ICT Manager.
