Joanne Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 omg!! does it say what size battery it was? That is PROPER WELL SCARY!
DCUK6 Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Lithium batteries are actually really dangerous. Used to do the RC Car and heli thing and when chargin you have to ensure all the cells are charged equally using the balancer built into every battery. Some chargers had a temperature probe as well and auto shutoff if anything went wrong. We even had (as is recomended) charging bags. If anything went wrong then the bag is supposed to stop them burning your place down.
synaesthesia Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Nice, but I like the linked video more, etching metal with vinegar, salt and a 9v battery... handy!
Garacesh Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 (edited) Well, that explains how people keep getting such bad burns from exploding phones O_O Nice, but I like the linked video more, etching metal with vinegar, salt and a 9v battery... handy! Yeah, but the end result always comes out patchy and rubbish. Much better to use some kind of engraver that will make the metal slightly rough (removing its reflective property).
