rjbcal Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Hi, I am hoping someone might help me figure out what is wrong with a Sanyo PLC-XE40. I bought one off of eBay with no remote. When I turned it on the red Power and orange Replacement Bulb lights came on. I purchased a new bulb and casing, replaced it and when powered back on, at first the Replacement Lamp did not come on, but when powered down and then back up, the Replacement Bulb was lit again. I tripped the thermal, no change. I just found out that the onboard battery is dead so will replace that. And I guess I need a remote code or something for the new Sanyo remote control I just bought. Can anyone help answer: Would a dead motherboard battery cause the Replacement Bulb to light up even with a new bulb? How can I reset or link the new remote control with the Sanyo? Anything else I should check before, sadly, tossing the Sanyo into the dumpster? Many, many thanks!
Mullaney18 Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Hi, I maybe wrong but I stumbled acroos this site a while a go which has some .pdfs that might help! http://sts.sydneyr.det.nsw.edu.au/files/sanyo_plcxe50_remote_code_change.pdf http://sts.sydneyr.det.nsw.edu.au/files/sanyo_plcxe50_lamp_replacement.pdf http://sts.sydneyr.det.nsw.edu.au/files/XE50_Thermal_Switch_reset_procedure.pdf
Zourous Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 1. Some projectors require a menu option to reset the bulb light or even button combination when firing the projector up. I would download the manual if I was you 2. Again might be in the menu somewhere if there is any config. I assume you've got a Sanyo remote that works with that model and not just any Sanyo remote.
