Hi all. I am trying to produce a document which shows me where one whole yeargroup is during each period.

I previously did these using Selection Timetable > Teachers of Year 11 and exported to Excel.

However it meant I had to do a lot of deleting, editing as it displays any other yeargroups/classees each individual teacher teaches.

Is there a quicker and easier way. The idea is to know which rooms/subjects the students are in each period.

Thanks.

I don't know if it can be done directly from SIMs, but there is a year/band timetable in NOVA T6 that will give you a timetable with periods like "11x Maths", "11y PE" etc

You can do a year/band timetable from sims by going reports > timetables > year/band timetable.

This will give you a list of the classes for the band / year group for each period of the week with the room and teacher for each.

Nova is probably better - not sure these days, but similar reports to Nova are in SIMS, under Reports Menu | Timetable. You could go for selection as you have before and choose all students of a given year group, or just do the All staff timetable, as with both you'll need to filter out data you don't want.

They can be formatted a little on screen then exported to Excel, but i'm not sure how user friendly they'll be for what you need.

On my current system, there is a nice Year Group Timetable print option which is similar to the old school Nova one. It gives only the specific year's lessons in a big multi-page spread.

@vikpaw if you didn't leave the left hand column in the report options blank as ticking one or more of them actually hides the data for that band, I keep doing this myself as normally sims is tick to include!!!

Oh wow I can't believe it was that simple! I always tick the band which takes away the room and teacher option.

Many thanks - we no longer use Nova so this is perfect.

Oh dear, LOL

It says, "Select Band(s) to be compressed" - How logical.
