Arreks Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 I always get the temptation to play but I know it won't be worth it.. Unless I do something drastically different and there isn't really anything I haven't tried now.
halbaradkenafin Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 The biggest issue for me was finding a good group to play with. I don't care if everyone spends most of the time off doing solo things as long as there are people to chat with to remove the boredom. If I do get the urge to play properly then I'll do some investigation and find a half decent low or null pvp Corp and try joining them. I can't be bothered with all the hassle of making isk so I'll probably resort to just selling plex to fund things.
halbaradkenafin Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 So after resubbing (well using a plex I had lying around) eve has been dead/dying for the last day or two. Lots of problems and random downtimes. Has my resubbing caused the end of Eve?
LiamH Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 They have just switched over to brand new server infrastructure, if you want to nerd out the info can be found here Tranquility Tech III - EVE Community They had some initial problems with the switch over, then someone forgot  to change the scheduled downtime back to normal on the database server so it shut down early the next day. Seems to be better now. What are you doing in eve since you resubbed?
halbaradkenafin Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 What are you doing in eve since you resubbed? Mostly ship spinning when I bother to log in. I should find a corp or something to join and do things with but I haven't put in the effort to find a decent one yet.
Arreks Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Might resub as a carebear for a bit and do some production.. I don't really want to go get too involved in EVE atm but I still want to play it lol.
LiamH Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 I'm in a nullsec corp, Although we are currently based out of a lowsec staging due to barbarians at the gates. Its a mainly UK based corp witch a strong culture of its own. Hit me up in game if it sounds like something you want to try out. IGN "xalent"
Arreks Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Back at it again. Went back to my indy char, might try and push recruitment for my corp again and join an alliance then move down to low sec.
Arreks Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Update: recruitment is going well, I'm in a good alliance and we're growing in Provi. Feels good because if I was just spending my time doing the usual stuff I think I'd be bored by now but managing a corp is taking up all my time!
Garacesh Posted May 25, 2016 Author Posted May 25, 2016 Well if I ever jump back in I'll give you a shout, although I think most of my assets techically belong to @LiamHaith since I put them in the corp hangar.
LiamHaith Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 I think the real question here, is if @Garacesh and myself were to restart.. would the League of Fabulous Gentlemen be welcome in the alliance?
Arreks Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 I think the real question here, is if @Garacesh and myself were to restart.. would the League of Fabulous Gentlemen be welcome in the alliance? Well I'm just a CEO in the Alliance so not really my call, if you're not KOS in Provi then probably.
halbaradkenafin Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 I think the real question here, is if @Garacesh and myself were to restart.. would the League of Fabulous Gentlemen be welcome in the alliance? I may have borrowed some isk from the Corp when I last resubbed but I can pay that back whenever. I'd be interested in joining up with people again, I'm only really free on weekends though.
Garacesh Posted May 25, 2016 Author Posted May 25, 2016 I think the real question here, is if @Garacesh and myself were to restart.. would the League of Fabulous Gentlemen be welcome in the alliance? Tarquin Boudoir can be very persuasive
LiamHaith Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Though, at this point I would be tempted to make a reformation (With new name for recruiting purposes) which would take some time to move all assets around and this time situate ourselves properly. I think I'm going to work as a space trucker... though wit hthe new skill injections I think I can be anything I want to Opinions Gara?
Garacesh Posted May 25, 2016 Author Posted May 25, 2016 Opinions Gara? The TI6 Compendium got released. I only have time for DotA 2 right now Realistically I only play like.. Two games at a time. And those 2 games right now are DotA and Guild Wars 2. But since I've replaced my graphics card so I won't have the crashing issues any more (which was one of the things that led me to quit) I'm open to the idea of starting again at some point.
LiamHaith Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 @Garacesh I still want your input. I'm thinking that we could make our corp based primarily around collection, production and shipping of necessary goods to the highest bidders in Null. We can PvP when nothing else to do, but it could be a nice change of pace from what we were doing, plus gives us a chance for diplomacy
Garacesh Posted May 25, 2016 Author Posted May 25, 2016 I still want your input. I'm thinking that we could make our corp based primarily around collection, production and shipping of necessary goods to the highest bidders in Null You've been playing too much Euro Truck mate Sounds like a good idea, though. Providing that we can get decent scale mining operations running then I fully expect there will be a need for that kind of service. That being said, any business venture of reasonable size will encounter hostiles, both NPC and otherwise. So sooner or later we'd need protection detail. Either we hire that out, or we'll need a PVP-ready division.
LiamHaith Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Well, that's the beauty of our procedure. During the initial steps, we'll situate ourselves near Jita to buy things we can't acquire ourselves... if we end up with a buyer *such as @Arreks* then he'll offer us protection/secure mining areas and we will hit him with somewhat of a discount as payment for time.
Garacesh Posted May 25, 2016 Author Posted May 25, 2016 Well, that's the beauty of our procedure. And get rekt every time we undock. So your idea is that if a corp/alliance offers to cover us whilst we mine, we give them a better price-per-ore. Works well on paper, but I can't help but think we'd keep a lot of long-term clients that way. Nothing stops them from building their own mining barges and training the skills, or they just put out a recruitment ad for miners. (not minors!) Maybe I'm just too sceptical. It just seems that any sizeable corp will have their own mining fleet, and the smaller corps won't have the dosh to use a service like ours (nor sufficient protection detail to cover us)
LiamHaith Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Then we will have two areas, PvP and Production. I know I have enough characters to cover both, as do you. My real query is whether we'd be able to make any money in Nul using the services we have to offer.
Arreks Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 My real query is whether we'd be able to make any money in Nul using the services we have to offer. If you train for a JF then literally every corp will be wanting your services since only a few people in our alliance can use (and owns) a JF reliably and we have like 600+ members..
LiamH Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 And get rekt every time we undock. So your idea is that if a corp/alliance offers to cover us whilst we mine, we give them a better price-per-ore.
