2097 Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Is any one else having problems with this ? We currently have a mac server on mavericks , the server is binded to AD and using profile manager . An AD user can login to the client machines The AD user gets its mapped home drive client machine can also get profiles that have been setup on Profile manager computer groups The problem we are having is getting AD user groups to apply profiles based on them groups, they tend to require quite a few logins to get the profile to push down ?? so for example , if we was to make a group in AD called test group and make our test user apart of this group the AD user will have to login multiple times for the profile to finally be pushed . Is any one else experiencing this ?
Ben-at-work Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 (edited) Yes, we're having issues with this with Yosemite. Students within a group log in, the correct user profile is set in System Preferences but won't apply until they log out then back in again. Did you ever find the cause or a solution? We're just testing at the moment but aim to deploy in the Summer. Edited March 31, 2015 by Ben-at-work Added OS and timeline.
Ben-at-work Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Done some playing, what's working for us is to create a group in Open Directory (Students OS X) and have the desired AD students nested within. It picks up and applies the correct profile at log in.
