Jplamb Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Hi All, We are looking to get a 3D printer for the students to use in Design but i am not sure what the best device to get would be. Have any of you got one in school? Any advice would be great. Currently looking at; Maker Bot Replicator - MakerBot® Replicator® Desktop 3D Printer (5th Gen) ROBOX - RBX01-BK - ROBOX - 3D PRINTER CEL ROBOX- BLUE, UK | Farnell element14 There is quite a price difference but both look to be really good devices. Any suggestions Cheers James
VeryPC_Colin_M Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 How about the Da Vinci? £395 + VAT da Vinci 1.0 AiO | 3D Printer | 3D Scanner | All in One - XYZprinting Affordable plug n play solution for schools.
Jplamb Posted February 17, 2015 Author Posted February 17, 2015 Cheers, that looks to be really cool, the only thing that is jumping out at me is it is cheap to say it includes the 3d scanner as well.

Yeah it does don't it @Jplamb. Let me check with the Vendor that the price includes the scanner as there's a 1.0a and a 1.0AIO. I'll get the knowledge on the differences and the prices.
VeryPC_Colin_M Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Got it. The newer DaVinci 1.0AIO 3D printer and scanner is £545 + VAT which looks bang on the money. The 1.0A is just a 3D Scanner. I love that they've invented a new word 'modelize". Kids are going to be going round school threatening to modelize each other!
