We have over 500 iPads and 100 Apple TV's on one site. We are having issues with iOS8 trying to AirPlay to the Apple TV's as the list is to large when looking for an AirPlay room. We have a SSID specifically for iPads & ATV's across the site and want to VLAN by building throughout the site to reduce the list. Our problems are that the buildings are within close proximity and want to make sure our devices when roaming around the site between buildings get the correct IP within a VLAN. (we are using iPad 2's). iPad users work across the school throughout the day so won't just be in one area, there iPad will roam.

We are using Ruckus

Any ideas for this one? cheers

I believe Apple updated the Apple TV last year so you can make it only show TV's in the Airplay list that are near by (in bluetooth range). I don't know much about it, just remember reading it as one of the new features in the Apple TV update. Edited by Quackers

I think you need something like a Bonjour Gateway to get airplay accross vLANs.

EDIT: Sorry, retract that. I thought you wanted to AirPlay where you needed AirPlay to work between devices that are on different vLANS :getmecoat:
