Col_Tech Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Mornin Guys, First of all I want to say hello a I am new here! I was wandering if anybody has got or has had any previous experience with the ramesys assimilate VLE? I have viwed their demo and have had contact with a number of their people regarding when the training will be available. I am aware that by May 2008 all Schools in Liverpool will be required to have a virtual learning platform however some Schools are using Moodle and they differentiate quite vastly. Any information would be great thanks
Wildebeaste Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 If it's anything like the Assimilate portal that Ramesys run for the EMBC, I have to say it sucks! Nasty, nasty, nasty, nasty.... Cryptic, unpleasant to navigate, vile and horrible on so many levels. I'm sure some people will love it.
pete Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 We're forced to use it occasionally to get info from county, but the UI is awful, especially when trying to find stuff that's deeply nested. Last trade show I went to, pretty much every other vendor took the mickey out of it.
Col_Tech Posted December 6, 2007 Author Posted December 6, 2007 Thanks for the feedback guys I have seen the demo of the previous vesion that I assume you are talking about. The new version is not set to piloted yet, not until May 2008. I am atending at BETT seminar in january so hopefully I will get a clearer picture of the platform. I will primarily be in charge of the VLE however I do not wish to be responsible for the uploading of work to the portal. I Know a guy who uses Moodle, difficult to maintain by all accounts. Thanks Again
ZeroHour Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Remember to come along to the edugeek stand then @ BETT
