  1. I have seen a recently developed version that was made for the BETT event, it seems like a pretty easy to used ineterface. In comparison to Moodle which takes a lot of maintenance, but looks a whole lt better. The problem that I think you will find is it may be a tough task to get teachers to upload content, esspecially older staff.
  2. Hello people, Are any of you guys getting the new ramemsys Assimilate VLE in place. obvioulsy if you are a School in Liverpool then the answer is yes (isnt it?). Have you seent eh working demo that was on show at BETT? looks Ok to be honest. Any thoughts? Cheers
  3. Yep I agree... however I have had some dodgy comments about the platform, probably just teething problems to be honest. I have visited a School that was running moodle and the interface looked fantastic, however low level students may struggle. I was impressed by the assimilate platform in all honesty, it looked simple which is what a learning platform should primarily be I think.
  4. Hello Guys, As I work in education I am often lumbered with different projects and inititives that are devised by the higher authorites when something needs to be done. Working in the IT sector of education this is esspecially so. Anyone is currently working in education in Liverpool will know that in May 2008 it is compulsary that all schools have the Ramesys Assimilate learning platform, or Virtual learning envrionment (VLE) if you like. I attended the BETT event on Wednesday and was shown the first pilot version of this platform. I was wandering if anyone has already got this in place because I have been placed in chrage of the management of the system when we get it. Its a pretty straight forward interface that is basically aimed at making it as easy as possible for kids to persoanlise their workspace and submit work. The tehnical aspect of the platform is a lot less complex than the likes of Moodle, and frog teacher which are other learning platforms. So if anyone has got any informaton that may help then bring it on. Cheers Guys, Keep Smiling
  5. Yep no worries I will if I am not swamped down after the Assimilate lectures 8O
  6. Thanks for the feedback guys I have seen the demo of the previous vesion that I assume you are talking about. The new version is not set to piloted yet, not until May 2008. I am atending at BETT seminar in january so hopefully I will get a clearer picture of the platform. I will primarily be in charge of the VLE however I do not wish to be responsible for the uploading of work to the portal. I Know a guy who uses Moodle, difficult to maintain by all accounts. Thanks Again
  7. Mornin Guys, First of all I want to say hello a I am new here! I was wandering if anybody has got or has had any previous experience with the ramesys assimilate VLE? I have viwed their demo and have had contact with a number of their people regarding when the training will be available. I am aware that by May 2008 all Schools in Liverpool will be required to have a virtual learning platform however some Schools are using Moodle and they differentiate quite vastly. Any information would be great thanks
