Imaging Machine through PXE

Hello All,

 

I have an issue... we've purchased a new machine (Fujitsu P702) and I am trying to image through PXE.

 

I have done everything correctly as far as I know, including having all drivers in Workbench and my deployment share updated. I am able to image other models so I know it works, however when trying to image this new machine, I get the following message BEFORE I get to the stage of selecting the task sequence/OS:

 

"A connection to the deployment share could not be made. The deployment will not proceed. The following network device did not have a driver installed."

The network drivers are in workbench and are correct so am confused as to why it can't see them. They are installed on the machine already as a local Win 7 copy is installed and has internet connectivity.

 

Any help and suggestions would be appreciated as I've had no luck so far with this.

if you exit to a command prompt and do ipconfig /all does it show a network card?

id still say that the driver is not being installed, if you had added the driver to the workbench and updated the MDT boot image have you then added this updated imafe to the WDS server?

in WDS management on the left there should be a section for adding boot images.

all you do is add the MDT boot.wim from your MDT setup, MDT stores its boot images in *mdtdirectory*\boot and either litetouchPE_x64 /_x86.wim depending on which arch you are using.

 

takes a few minutes to do once its added the drivers should load, as the WDS server pushes the MDT image to the machine which contains your added drivers

If the error is coming up during the windows PE phase then they will require the Vista version of the drivers.

Thanks SHimmer45 - I updated deployment share but not WDS... Definitely ready for half term!

I had the same error on my lenovo computers.

All the correct drivers was on the MDT, I was really strugelling with it.

 

It turned out that even though its a Lenovo M78, it doesn't mean that the hardware is the same on all M78.

So our 300 M78 had 3-4 different hardware versions.

 

So make sure that you have the correct drivers, and make sure that the Fujitsu P702 does come with different hardware versions.
