Garacesh Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 We do get a fair few people complaining (legitimately!) on Edugeek, and while BTRD is hidden from Google, I wonder if anyone checks on these forums before hiring. Well given that the vast majority of us are using usernames.. We could be anybody on here (Just remember that if you get EduGeek replies etc to your work email, then work has your EduGeek name )

I decided to Google myself yesterday only to find out that some very old pictures and a fake profile had been setup of myself under Badoo. I'm really not happy about this and can't access the account to delete it. I've had to make everyone aware because it's the first result and I really want it taken down. Does anyone know how to go about this to get this profile removed, I would really prefer not to have my face all over a website such as this!

Erp, after looking up what that is, I don't blame you. * My response would have been "If they're trying to run a legit business just contact them and let them know it's fictitious and using your likeness which you do not authorise. Inform them you request them to remove the profile, and if they require any proof you are willing to agree to reasonable** measures to provide it.".. But given they send out dodgy spam email and have a turd security rating, I'm not sure how far you'd get with that. Edit: Just Google'd myself (:o at work, too! The sheer audacity of such a thing..!) and all you get is Facebook and LinkedIn profiles for dudes that ain't me I'm okay with that. * Although, to be fair, probably shouldn't have Googled 'Badoo' at work.. But in all fairness I did only look at their Wiki entry. ** I specify because most would consider 'shoe on head' unreasonable, but that may very well be their prove-it policy. Really not happy at all, my main concern is it effecting my career prospects if I ever go for another job. You do realise that can make you go blind? It was a risk I was willing to take.... also it's notable if you type Google into Google, You WILL break the internet.

It was the most popular page visited on the entire internets. Visited more than Google. Unfortunately though I'm a one girl kind of Man, sorry ladies.
