Firefox Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Quick question. If I configure loopback policy processing in "Replace" mode and within this policy enable the User Configuration, but define no settings, will this effectively stop any user policy settings applying? In my scenario when users log onto certain devices I need there to be no user policies that apply, but obviously if the same users log onto other devices then the policies should apply as normal.
sted Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 yes in replace mode they will get the settings that that policy defines ie none in merge mode they will get "their" settings and whatever you define in the user part of what is a pc policy 1
Firefox Posted February 11, 2015 Author Posted February 11, 2015 Excellent, that's exactly how I understood it should work (which normally means in a Microsoft product that it'll never do that lol)

Firefox Posted February 11, 2015 Author Posted February 11, 2015 I THINK there are exceptions though so any policy that's enforced I think still gets applied but ive never used it in replace mode Thankfully I've spent the last year unpicking all the blocks and policy enforcements, to a point we now have no blocked inheritance, and only our default domain policy and trusted sites policy are enforced
