IrritableTech Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 The celebrate Safer Internet Day, Google are giving standard accounts an extra 2GB of free space if you complete their security check. It takes seconds and your free space should be awarded by the end of the month. Google Drive Blog: A quick checkup and a simple thanks Obviously it's still worth checking your security with your GAFE account, but you can't add more space to an unlimited account! 2
6Foot2 Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 (edited) I saw this earlier and checked my settings [including making some changes] After confirming the new settings I didn't get any confirmation that the new space allowance would be added: Still at 15 GB allowed. http://i.snag.gy/hCobb.jpg I guess they didn't think to add that confirmation? Edited February 10, 2015 by 6Foot2 Correct current space allowed typo.
IrritableTech Posted February 10, 2015 Author Posted February 10, 2015 No, for some reason they haven't made it very clear. Theory has it your space should be added by March 1st.
Marshall_IT Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Thanks for that, i also turned on 'Inactive Account Manager' while i was there.

Marshall_IT Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Interesting. What have you left me in your digital will? :-) Hahaha... I can't see it as being anything else. Not for me anyway, I am personally so tied into Google, they auto backup all my photos, I'd hate for those to be gone forever. It was a bit emotional potentially writing the last message from me my wife will ever read...
6Foot2 Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 I have just received my confirmation of my extra space following the security check: Before: http://i.snag.gy/hCobb.jpg Now: http://i.snag.gy/UeDR9.jpg
IrritableTech Posted March 9, 2015 Author Posted March 9, 2015 I awoke to the same @DaveP. Glad it's working for everyone. :-)
