Morning All,

We are moving away from CC4 in the summer and are trying to plan everything in advance we have already done a lot of planning but I wanted to hear from anyone else that has already gone through this. What do we need to consider? what went well for you? what didn't go so well? what would you change? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards

Mike

We moved from CC4 to a vanilla network with virtual servers, it was definitely a good choice! We had some problems here and there because of the company that initially set things up (we decided against doing it ourselves), their base policies were slightly different to what we originally had so there were some problems with software etc which we had to fix. Lots of issues with Macs, but I think that's just because Macs are awful. :bowl:

We did it last summer - don't underestimate the job - plan, plan then plan some more. Look at everything RM gives you, and find an alternative way of managing it. We took the opportunity to virtualise our servers at the same time, and I had the "new" domain (one DC, SCCM, and a couple of clients to start, added in file servers and print server) set up on a virtual host by Easter. This gave me time to test software deployment and station building before we went live over the Summer.
