Hanns-G Monitors - Power Save mode

We have a lot of Hanns-G monitors on site, all the same model (HE225), however, on some of the monitors, if they are receiving no input, they decide to do a really annoying power save mode whereby it likes to do a presentation of the various colours on the screen, and doesn't stop (unless the power cable is pulled out). On other monitors, where the monitor settings are exactly the same, the screen is just black, and stays that way until the PC is turned on or woken up.

 

It isn't the most subtle power save mode in the world at night, when the machines are off, so does anyone know what is causing it, and how to remedy it?!

Press and hold the menu button for 3 seconds, is ECO mode selected or PC ?

PC mode was selected. I changed it to Eco, but made no difference... If it helps, there is, what looks to be some sort of timer, on the screen whilst the colours flash away... Edited February 5, 2015 by Duckstein

Under the signal selection menu, is AUTO SEARCH on or off ?

Autosearch was set to Off. I have read the manual, and can't find any mention of what we are experiencing whatsoever!

I've got this exact issue on a HA195. Do you think it was a key press on the monitor or a menu setting that was altered to fix it in the end?

It was a menu setting for me. When I pressed the menu, the first OSM menu screen was blank with just a small F in a box. I pressed the 'enter' key on the monitor, and at the bottom there was something about reset. After I had done this, the issue stopped...however, I thought I had done this before. I had performed a factory reset on the monitor as well beforehand, but not sure if that made a difference!

 

Quite vague I know...but something happened that resolved it!

Only the Auto Adjust button on the monitor is the only one functioning, cant get the Menu or even the Power buttons to work :-/ It still works fine when it has a signal, but as it wont turn off without unplugging it the colour sequence continues to cycle.

Even when the monitor is receiving a signal from the PC? You can't access the menu whilst in power save mode, so I just had to put the PC to sleep every time I wanted to test.

I found the solution to the issue. Press the menu button on the monitor, under the first blank menu, choose enter button.

The BURN:ON at the very bottom causes this BLUE, RED, GREEN, BLACK screen saver.

Turning this off resolved my issue after a power loss reset the factory settings.

I have a Hanns-G HL231 monitor, and occasionally it goes into this "flashing colours standby mode". I think that it happens when you remove the power suddenly whilst it is in use.

 

Sadly i don't have a blank menu and could not find a "BURN:" option anywhere.

 

However if you pull out the power (in this case, a low voltage feed via a transformer into the back of the monitor), leave it a few seconds, hold the power/standby button in for a few seconds, then replace the power (whilst keeping the button pressed) - it does seem to reset things back to normal (i.e. blank powersave).
