Projectors Lamped VS Lampless?

Afternoon,

 

Just trying to get some recommendations on projectors preferably WXGA short throw. Looking at prices of lamped vs lampless, there still is quite a price difference between the two to the point of even a couple of bulbs added, lamped models still can give better value for money.

 

Funds are tight, as is with most schools and interactive touch screens are not being purchased as we don't believe that even our existing IWBs are being fully utilised and have become in many areas a white elephant.

 

All suggestions and recommendations most welcome!

I think if you hunt through the threads that you will find that each time this is asked that many of us have done the maths and concluded that

 

LED+5 year warranty < Conventional + bulbs over 5 years.

 

 

And the image stays the same throughout... no yellowing, dimming, etc.

 

EDIt and then there are no filters to clean which is worth so much in time and yuk!

I don't have anything against the Casio projectors - also saw some £100 cash back vouchers on the Casio website last week which makes the purchase price a bit closer. However if money is really tight Roche AV have Hitachi projectors from ~£300 with a 5 year guarantee on hardware, plus 3 year warranty on bulb plus voucher for free replacement bulb in years 4 and 5 if the bulb goes before the warrant on the main unit expires. I've put a few of the Hitachi ultra short throw projectors in; from £529 at the minute.

We go for the Casio LED projectors and have found them great. The new Casio Core projector (announced at BETT) should be coming along soon with a price of around £450 so should make the decision even easier.

 

When you look at the costs of say an Epson projector, add on the additional lamp, the fact the warranty is only 3 years, the time for swapping lamps, cleaning filters, extra electricity used over the 5 years then a Casio tends to work out costing about the same if not cheaper.

Thanks for the feedback guys, so in essence what I am looking for is what you would deem to be a reasonable budgetary quote for complete install of a lamp projector and a lampless model, including cabling, speakers and AV box on wall?
