Dear all,

We are getting SIMS soon and I'm wondering if in the behaviour and achievement lookups, you can determine different items according to the year/tier of the school?

So for example for behaviour we would define things like:

Uniform

Bullying

Chewing

Disruption etc

But in the lower school we may wish to do something else... is this possible?

We're trying to develop a behaviour policy and I'm looking to guide our staff in terms of what we can and can't do.

Cheers all,

You cannot set the behavior and achievement types to apply only to certain sub-groups; we too have some that are relevant only to a certain year groups but they appear for all pupils.

You can determine which types are linked to the register and which are not, but beware that those types that are linked get used almost exclusively. This could, of course, mean we have got it set up exactly right, but I suspect it really means the end users only know one way of assigning behavior and achievement!

"You can determine which types are linked to the register and which are not"

Does this mean you can determine which can be accessed from Lesson Monitor/Registration and which can only be applied to pupils via the behaviour module itself?

I assume this would be to keep the very serious stuff out of the way of most staff and allow only senior staff to assign it to students?

Correct

Perhaps, we don't go into that level of control here but it may be possible to do this utilizing SIMS permissions.
