techie08 Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Has anyone else had the issues where SIMS has the error "failing network request:retrying" in the bottom left of the SIMS window? It also appears where staff try to send InTouch Messages. If so, does anyone know of a fix? Many Thanks
rush_tech Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Do you use SIMS Services Manager or the VPN for intouch?
techie08 Posted January 23, 2015 Author Posted January 23, 2015 Do you use SIMS Services Manager or the VPN for intouch? Yep. Why is that? do you think this could be the issue?
rush_tech Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 In Sims >>tools>>>intouch>>>service setup does the test connection succeed? 1
techie08 Posted January 23, 2015 Author Posted January 23, 2015 Now it says connection failed for admin message and template service.
rush_tech Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 They'd be your problem do you have any thing blocking the route to the routing and data service address? firewall maybe
techie08 Posted January 23, 2015 Author Posted January 23, 2015 Has this error for licence- This request operation sent to net.pipe://localhost/InTouch/RoutingService did not receive a reply within the configured timeout (00:01:00). The time allotted to this operation may have been a portion of a longer timeout. This may be because the service is still processing the operation or because the service was unable to send a reply message. Please consider increasing the operation timeout (by casting the channel/proxy to IContextChannel and setting the OperationTimeout property) and ensure that the service is able to connect to the client.

rush_tech Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Just to check do you have a License key and hosted service address in the service setup?
techie08 Posted January 23, 2015 Author Posted January 23, 2015 Yeah. I restarted the routing and data services on SIMS Services Manager and it now works. Dont know why after a few days it decides to pack up though! Thanks
badidas Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 I have this issue on a few schools. Even had a remote session with capita, issue varied from school to school. In one school, whilst the server met SIMS minimum specs it was not good enough for Intouch (not enough ram in this instance), the other school had plenty of RAM but SQL was taking it all and i was advised to cap the maximum amount of memory SQL to take. I believe this issue only occurred with intouch schools who upgraded on the last release, do you agree? Have you found a solution yet?

SQL already had a cap so i guess it struggled after the latest update as it needed for free RAM to work! The VM is now running with 18gb RAM.
